ZAGO Manufacturing Co. CEO Gail Friedberg Rottenstrich, a mentor, a proud wife and mother of three, co-founded ZAGO Manufacturing Co. at the NJIT Enterprise Development Center Small Business Incubator in Newark, NJ in 1993. Gail has earned a Political Science degree from SUNY Albany (Summa Cum Laude) and a Law degree from George Washington University Law School (Cum Laude). Prior to this role, Gail proudly served as Vice President of the company for over 25 years. Currently, Gail oversees purpose-driven business strategy, quality control, sales, customer service, financial analysis, legal affairs and sustainability initiatives.
Gail values spending time with and learning from talented ZAGO Team Members, as they strive for continuous improvement, and working on sustainability initiatives that have a positive impact on the environment, stakeholders and the community.
In addition to positively impacting the community of Newark, employees, and aspiring leaders, Gail is active in her hometown of Fair Lawn, New Jersey. Gail serves as Councilmember of Fair Lawn Borough (2nd term) and is a liaison to its Green Team and Planning Board. She also serves on the Board of Trustees of the New Jersey Manufacturing Extension Program (NJMEP), the Board of Trustees of Planned Parenthood of Metropolitan New Jersey and the Board of Trustees of New Jersey Business & Industry Association (NJBIA).
Gail’s contributions to the manufacturing industry and the community have not gone unnoticed. Gail and ZAGO have won multiple awards since Gail was named CEO including 2017 NJMEP Manufacturer of the Year (Small Manufacturer), 2022 CIANJ Sustainable Manufacturing Award, CIANJ Enterprising Women (Manufacturing) Award, and 2022 Environmental Leadership Award.
