ZAGO Manufacturing Co. kicked off summer by welcoming 18 aspiring engineering students from STEM Innovation Academy for a tour of their manufacturing facility and launching its annual internship program. It was an educational and inspiring experience for the students as they glimpsed into modern manufacturing. Guided by knowledgeable staff, students learned the different stages of the manufacturing process and asked questions to broaden their knowledge scope.
“We hope the tour will encourage more students to explore and pursue careers in manufacturing,” said Jackie Luciano, Vice President of ZAGO. A current intern at ZAGO shared his insights on his experience so far, stating, "Working as an intern in manufacturing has given me a hands-on understanding of the entire production process, from the initial design phase to the final product. It's incredible to see how teamwork and attention to detail turn raw materials into something functional and impactful."
No matter what path they choose, career opportunities in both STEM and manufacturing await them. Should they decide to pursue a career in manufacturing, the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) projects thousands of openings each year in occupations primarily employed in manufacturing from 2022 to 2032. The sky’s the limit!
Thank you STEM Innovation Academy for arranging this tour and giving us the opportunity to impact the lives of enthusiastic young engineering students. A special thanks to their teacher, Lavon Smith, for ensuring that his students had a meaningful and engaging experience.
ZAGO is a purpose-driven company that is committed to the triple bottom line strategy of "People. Planet. Profit."
